brunch

what's for brunch? bacon+omelette+pancakes+brewed coffee.nothing fancy but i am proud i managed to scrounge a decent meal for us - nothing burnt, bland or bad, everything edible. now that the place is getting into shape, i am thinking of cooking more at home so we don't spend so much eating out and we have more variety and healthier options when we eat. for now, i can do the basic fry and the occasional soup but i want to learn to cook more. one recipe i wanted to try is this ravioli with spinach and bacon recipe i saw from a copy of a real simple in a restaurant we were eating at. i was not able to find any ravioli or spinach last week but maybe i can try my luck this weekend. so i ended up cooking the usual spaghetti.
anyway, i am still behind with the pictures of the apartment. all the shelves are up, even the mirrors have been set in place and we have done our fair share of dusting and cleaning. but sad to say the hammering and dusting are not yet over as we are still trying to fix our
internet connection.we have had numerous visits from the electrician and the telephone guy but each visit just seems to make it worse.it gets very frustrating.but thank God for hubby who has been very patient about the whole thing and is still trying to get everything fixed.what would i do without him?
after more cleaning and dusting, i am hoping to get some scrapping and crafting time done during the weekend.there are also some exciting things some friends and i are working on and i can't wait when we can finally spill the beans.the hammering is giving me a headache, i'm gonna go get myself something to eat.enjoy the weekend everyone.

fresh beginnings

i am writing this post amidst the chaos that is our living room and carpenters drilling holes and putting up shelves. after almost a year and a half in our tiny studio, hubby and i finally moved into a one-bedroom apartment. between my craft stuff and wardrobe and his gadgets, we were fortunate to even have a space to eat and sleep.
we moved in two weeks ago but the things started coming in only this week. first, the couch which almost feels like a bed and then the shelves and our work tables which are so efficient but aesthetic. the only thing we're missing is our dining table.

there is still a bit of work ahead of us, not to mention the post-construction clean-up but the place is slowly coming together. i am already looking forward to when all this is completed and we can finally start nesting. as the house is still halfway done and i need to get back to cleaning, i am leaving you with a picture of the frame i completed from a class i attended here. i already have the perfect spot for it, now for the perfect timing to hang it. enjoy the rest of your weekend.
