keeping promises

As promised, I'm sharing pictures of the entire album that I created for the PS Mini Album Grab A Swap. It reflects a lot of the things I love - vibrant colors, a shabby chic vibe and lots and lots of details from pockets, tags to the birds and the flowers. I'm also happy my swap partner loved the album. Anyway, I hope you like the album as well and have a great week ahead.

of albums and a craft soiree

Once again, I have  a backlog of projects that I want to share. I'm not optimistic that I'll improve anytime soon in updating my blog especially since I started with my first class for MBA already. Like the geek I've always been, I'm enjoying schoolwork and I'm happy to be learning a lot.
Anyway, here's a rundown of what I've been up to, craft-wise, in pictures.
Last July, my friend's baby was baptized and I was one of the godmothers. The event styling was done by Pepperfy, a little crafting venture my friends and I started. We created the souvenirs, decors like the pompoms, flower pots and banners, and the guestbook.

I also attended my first, and hopefully not my last craft soiree last August 18. It also coincided with my first day of class so I was only able to drop by for less than an hour. The event was held in Pino restaurant and there were around 30 crafters who participated.
Alessa writes about it here as well as the other participants like starsfordreams who talks about her loot and the loot she didn't get and designsofartisan. I already signed up for the next one in December and I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to attend.
For my project, I altered a mini-canvas by painting and stamping on it then finally embellishing it with hand-made flowers and diecuts. This my first attempt at a multi-media project so I was very apprehensive about how it would turn out when I started. In the end, I'm happy with how it turned out.

I also participated in the PS Mini Album Grab a Swap which concluded last night. I created an 8x8 album using the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee line. I love the vibrant colors of this line and I was able to integrate a lot of my favorite things in this mini as well as several techniques I learned online. I have yet to take pictures of the entire mini but for now, I'd like to share the cover.

Finally, I want to share a Love mini-album I created a while back using The Girls' Paperie Vintage Whimsy line.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my projects. I'll try to update with the other projects I'm working on. Have a great week ahead.

half a decade and some projects

today marks the 5th year since gian and i became a couple. wow, half a decade. it might not seem like such a mean feat especially if pitted against couples who have been together for decades. i've been with my current company much longer than we've been together. but it's a milestone for us. it hasn't always been perfect and we've had our share of joys and heartaches but i can only be grateful. i also pray that the coming years will be kind to us and we grow closer and together as we work towards our dreams.
anyway, enough of the cheese. i have several projects that i want to share. as you might have surmised from the lack of updates here, i haven't been able to commit to my one project a day - who knew creating tags could be exhausting. i have been participating in some local swaps after my first tag swap. there was a smash book swap, another tag swap and an atc swap. here are my projects.

for the smash book swap, my swap partner requested for either a shabby chic or travel-themed smash book. i had so much fun creating the shabby chic smash book, i decided to create a travel-themed one as well.

the next swap i participated in was a tag swap and i suggested the alice in wonderland theme. i already worked on a friend's baby shower with the same theme but alice in wonderland seemed like an inexhaustible source of inspiration and this time, i wanted to play with muted tones. the papers i used varied because i had to create 14 tags and i only had limited quantities of the designs. but most of the elements were consistent across the tags - a stamped sentiment saying imagine or believe, a clock, a drink me potion, teacups and a quote from the book tucked in a small envelope.

a friend who got married last saturday asked for my help to create the table numbers and the sponsors' place cards and i happily obliged. my photoshop skills are minimal to non-existent but i'm happy how these turned out.

yesterday i finished my atc's for the latest swap i joined - an atc swap with the theme it's more fun in the philippines. i bought these filipiniana stamps from papemelroti a few months back and when i saw the theme, i knew these stamps would be perfect. for the fiesta banners, i used washi tape i purchased from hey kessy. i will be sending these out next week and hopefully the people in my group will like them.

anyway, that's all from my end. hubby and i are off to hk tomorrow for a much-needed break. when i get back i will be working on the baptismal party of a friend's daughter. or should i say my goddaughter? have a great week ahead everyone.

of tags and terrariums

i've had a fascination for terrariums for a while now and have attempted to create something that captures the essence of containing a world in a jar. this series is one of those attempts. this will probably be my last tag series in a while and i'm still trying to figure out my next project and theme for my year of creativity project.
i have a friend's baby shower coming up and i will be sharing my projects for that. i'm also working on several projects now - a layout, a calendar for a friend and probably a mini-album as well. i'm calling it a week and my weekend will officially start in a few minutes. so i hope you enjoy the tags and more importantly, your weekend.

tags, swaps and washi tape

so here i am finally with my long overdue update. i am sharing my second batch of tags although i am so behind on my year of creativity project - 21 tags, 0 layouts and 0 albums. i am rethinking the one tag/project a day to one tag/project a week. i always seem to be exhausted from work that after dinner, i can barely keep my eyes open and i just head straight to bed. but that's something that i need to mull over. in the meantime, hope you enjoy the tags.
